Thomas Patrick Byrnes
July 27, 1987 - August 11, 2004
Thomas Patrick "Pat"Byrnes, died in a single car accident August
11, 2004. He was to be a Senior at St. Joseph's Prep and was returning for
his fourth season of lacrosse at the Prep. Pat's number 28 has been retired
and the team has dedicated its season to the memory of Pat.
Pat Byrnes should be a senior this year. This was going to be his year……..
You know Pat Byrnes. He is the kid who always has a smile, has a joke to help you get through sprints, the kid who always has the new handshake or hi-five. He was the one who always led cheers from the sideline, the one who has your back no matter what.
Pat Byrnes embodied the Jesuit creed of a “Man for Others”. He was a kid who wanted to win, a kid who was friends with everyone, a kid who would do anything for you. He was a kid who cheered all, a kid who put his team before himself. Pat always had a smile and an encouraging word for everyone. Every team has a Pat….We lost ours.
This year Pat started to show his potential. Pat showed his leadership, his desire, and even more of his incredible personality. With his “impish grin and uplifting spirit” we still have # 28 to help us during the tough times....
....This is Pat’s Year.
